WHAT GOT YOU INTO CROSSFIT?

I joined CrossFit to stay functionally active and mobile. With a big, energetic family, I wanted to keep up with my nieces and nephews.  I also value the many ways that being physically fit enhances everyday life. 

WHAT DO I LIKE ABOUT ALCHEMY?

I love Alchemy for the people. The gym’s culture is positive and supportive, and my 7am crew has become a circle of great friends. 

Bonus, it’s only 10 minutes from home.  

WHAT HAS BEEN MY PROUDEST MOMENT?

Competing in my first rowing regatta competition. It was equal parts scary and exhilarating. I felt incredibly accomplished just being part of it. 

WHAT ARE YOUR CROSSFIT GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?

Achieve consistent double-unders and develop the mobility for solid overhead squats. Is learning to like burpees a goal?

My perfect workout is gritty and simple... Row, Wall Balls, and Clean & Jerks. For Time: Row 1000m, 50 Wall Balls, 30 Clean & Jerks - 15 mins time-cap

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST CHANGE YOU'VE SEEN IN YOURSELF SINCE I STARTED CROSSFIT?

More confidence and consistency. I move better, recover faster, and I’m less intimidated by hard things — both in the gym and in everyday life. 

WHEN YOU'RE NOT AT THE GYM, WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO DO?

When I'm not at the gym, I'm traveling. Especially to anything Disney. My family loves the parks and Disney Cruises. We've sailed around the world and visited nearly every Disney park. We love the magic, the food, the service, and the memories that come with every trip. 

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD SPOT?

My favorite local spot is the St. George Arms, the pub in St. George. Great service, cozy vibes, and really good food (especially the pork schnitzel). It feels straight out of a Hallmark movie.
