Hamilton Member of the Month for May 2026 Antonietta Sollazzo
Tell us about yourself
Hi, I'm Antonietta! Born and raised in the best place on earth, Hamilton. I'm passionate about serving my community and do that through my work as a Paramedic. When I'm not at work, I love trying new local restaurants, going on road trips with my dog, and escaping to any sunny place.
What got you into CrossFit?
I was looking to change up my monotonous workout routine, and instantly connected with the sense of community that the coaches promote and the clients support here at Alchemy. I've been hooked since.
What do you like about Alchemy?
Is it cheesy to say the friends I made along the way? Coaches who really care not just about the material, but also about fostering a sense of community. All of the community members who support, encourage, and commiserate with you.
What has been your proudest moment at Alchemy?
It's hard to pick one moment. I would say my proudest accomplishment is really just doing things I never thought were possible. I believe my CrossFit really changed my mind about what I can physically accomplish.
What are your CrossFit goals for the future?
I'm often confronted with the limits of physicality as we age with my work, so I just want to keep moving to stay as mobile as possible for as long as possible.
If you could design the perfect workout, what would it include?
Anything but running
What's the biggest change you've seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?
I would say, mostly mentally, I never would have thought I could do a triathlon or lift more than my body weight, but CrossFit really helps you prove to yourself that these things are possible.
When you're not at the gym, what's your favourite thing to do?
Spend time with friends and my dog.
What’s your favourite local Hamilton food spot?
It's tough to pick just one, but if I had to, I think I would say Shorty's Pizza
